If you're new to Canada, new to the workplace, or getting back into IT, you may find it difficult to find work unless you can show people why they should hire you over everyone else. How can you distinguish yourself? How can you reach out and connect with people? How can you find--or even create--opportunities that are just right for you? In this session, you'll learn how you can develop your passion, improve your skills, and grow your network. Packed with tips for getting started and stories from real life, this talk can help you turbocharge your job search. Speaker Biography:
Sacha Chua is new to Canada, new to the workforce, and a self-confessed introvert, but she's certainly making a name for herself. She moved to Toronto in 2005 with three suitcases, and has since then built a strong professional and social network. After completing her M.A.Sc. Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto, she joined IBM Canada in a position that was tailor-made for her based on the passions and skills she showed in her blog and other work. She is passionate about helping people connect and collaborate, and would love to share what she has learned and is learning.
